IE AutoFill is an Internet Explorer extension that allows you easily save
and fill Internet Web Forms. Web Form is a part of the HTML pages that groups
special elements called
editor
that accept user
input to enter different information for submission. For example user id and
password to log on to your favorite Internet email, your address information
when applying for a telephone service hook-up and so on.
If you are actively using Internet in your everyday life and job you have
to remember at list dozen user ids and passwords for different web sites and
have to enter the same information all over again. IE AutoFill frees you from
this routine job. It saves all information from web form to protected location
on your computer and easily completes form when you next time reopen it.
IE AutoFill features include:
- Seamless Integration with Internet Explorer - IE AutoFill
functions can be access from:
- a toolbar that becomes a part of Internet Explorer
- HTML page context menu (by right-clicking anywhere on the page)
- Internet Explorer Tools/IE AutoFill Menu (for editor only)
- Data Organization - IE AutoFill data is stored
for later filling in one of the three categories:
- Global - available for filling any web forms
with the same data (Perfect to fill forms with personal information
like name, phone, address)
- Site - available for filling any page within a single
website (Perfect for sites that have dynamically generated pages)
- Page - available for filling only a particular Internet
or Local page
- Global Data - IE AutoFill creates special collection of fields to
keep the Global category data. The Global category data contains Personal Information fields,
Address fields and Credit Card Information fields. This data could be used to automatically
complete any forms on the web. It also allows to add custom fields using their names as a
regular-expressions to match for eligible fields
- Saving Web Form Data and Properties - IE AutoFill lets
you save properties and values of all supported
controls
on the page for later editing and filling. Web Form data is stored in Page or Site
categories. Local Page data is stored in Page category only.
- Highlighting fillable controls - IE AutoFill automatically
highlights all the controls that are eligible for automatic filling.
The control is highlighted if it has been previously saved or if
it matches one of the fields from the Global category.
- Filling Web Forms with saved Data - IE AutoFill lets you
fill Web Forms with previously saved data with one mouse-click. The whole
form or a single field can be filled. The data can come from Global, Site or Page
categories described above.
- Password-protected access - Access to IE AutoFill functionality
within a browser and editor can be optionally protected by password.
- Editing Previously saved Form Control values - IE AutoFill
Editor lets you edit
form control values, such as
changing your user names or passwords. All supported
controls
can be edited. The controls can be removed if no longer needed.
- Context Menu fields - IE AutoFill lets you create
collection of fields accesible from Context Menu. These fields can be used to fill a
single control on any web page from the IE Context Menu.
- Data Encryption - All saved data is encrypted.
- Export and Import - All IE AutoFill data can be exported and imported back if for example reinstalling OS.
